Who I Am

Hello! My name is Rosetta Johnson, and I am an educator, children’s author, mother of six children, and the creator of Outstanding Owls™. My birthday is August 27, and I am proud to call Apex, North Carolina home.

My journey toward becoming an author grew from two of the most important parts of my life—being a mother and being an educator. Raising six children and working with young learners have shown me just how powerful love, encouragement, patience, and positive words can be in shaping a child’s confidence and future.

My desire to write children’s books came from wanting to create stories that do more than entertain. I want children to open my books and find messages that help them feel loved, valued, confident, capable, and important. That passion inspired I Love You More Than Peanut Butter and Jelly!, a heartfelt story celebrating the special kind of love that surrounds children through both the big moments and the simple moments of everyday life.

Becoming an author gives me the opportunity to bring together my love of children, family, education, literacy, and creativity. Through my books and Outstanding Owls™ educational resources, I hope to encourage children to develop a lifelong love of reading and learning while reminding them that their dreams matter and their possibilities are endless.

As a mother of six, I understand that some of life's most meaningful lessons begin with love at home. As an educator, I know those lessons can continue in our classrooms, libraries, and communities. And as an author, I hope to create stories that connect those worlds.

My goal is to leave children with something meaningful long after the final page has been turned—a feeling of encouragement, a reason to believe in themselves, and the knowledge that every child has something special to offer the world.

I write to teach. I write to inspire. I write to encourage. And most importantly, I write from the heart. 💜🦉
